In Kind Eyes, the figure of the musician sits on an olive can from Haim Raphael’s delicatessen, carrying within his body the memory of liberation. The accordion – made from facades of the Levinsky neighborhood – plays a melody of hope, born from pain and shared memory. The work is based on a photograph taken on the day of liberation from the Ebensee concentration camp – a moment of human compassion at the heart of historical chaos.
