Adam

A hanging lighting fixture made from a Knaizt hat of a Haredi youth, found in a community lending store (Gemach). The dome of the hat incorporates layered work and lighting, referencing Christian iconography and elements from Surrealist art. The material contrast between the black velvet fabric and the white cutouts sharpens the composition and highlights the qualities of the materials. The piece was created for the exhibition “Movables” and is displayed suspended from the ceiling, inviting viewers to look upwards.
