A sculptural series centered on ORTIZ sardine cans, reinterpreted as compact suitcases through minimal, precise interventions. Custom 3D-printed components connect around the tin using a dry-fit mechanism, without glue or adhesives, forming a small and modular object.
The work invites a fresh look at industrial food packaging — not only as consumer waste but as a carrier of memory, identity and global movement. The choice of sardine tins reflects their visual strength, cultural associations with travel and preservation, and their relevance in contemporary conversations around sustainability and displacement.
First shown at the Movables exhibition at B.Y5 Gallery in Tel Aviv, curated by Nir Harmat, the series forms part of a broader exploration of material, light and emotional weight through designed objects.
