Z.on is a vertical lighting object that draws a line of light between floor and ceiling. Combining illuminated textile rope, brass details and a concrete counterweight, the system allows the light elements to move along the suspension cables, creating changing compositions that respond to the space and its users.
The design explores the relationship between gravity and movement. While the concrete weight anchors the piece to the ground, the illuminated elements travel freely along the vertical axis, creating an ongoing dialogue between light, material and architecture. The result is a lighting object that functions both as a sculptural presence and as a tool for shaping atmosphere.
The name refers to the Z axis, the vertical dimension of space, and the act of switching on. It is also dedicated to the memory of Zion, Adi Azar’s father and co-founder of StudioKnob. Like the object itself, the name brings together engineering precision, materiality and personal narrative.
Designed for residential, hospitality and public interiors, Z.on offers a dynamic approach to contemporary architectural lighting.
